Students of more than 500 schools formed a human chain
Bhopal. Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan, which started in the state on 17th September, is being run in all the urban bodies across the state with public participation. Students of more than 500 schools of the state gave the message of awareness towards cleanliness by forming a human chain in their city. This year, programs focused on cleanliness are being organized on the theme of “Swabhaav Swachhata-Sanskar Swachhata”.
Through various programs, cleaning work was done in urban areas by doing Shramdaan with the help of public participation and Safai Mitras. In Gwalior, Union Communications and North Eastern Region Development Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia administered the oath of cleanliness to the citizens. Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar, former MLA Munnalal Goyal and councilors were present on this occasion. In Khandwa, Mayor Mrs. Amrita Amar Yadav and other public representatives participated in the cleaning work. In Morena, students of schools were administered the oath of cleanliness. Students of TSS School of Morena formed a human chain and gave the message to everyone to imbibe the habit of cleanliness. Mayor Sharda Devi Solanki participated prominently in the mass cleaning work.
Since the launch of Swachh Bharat Mission Urban in the state in the year 2014, the cleanliness program has taken the form of a mass movement in Madhya Pradesh. Public toilets are being constructed prominently in the urban areas of the state. Waste processing units have been given priority in the urban bodies of the state.
