Visakhapatnam. While playing the second Test match against England, India’s first innings was limited to a score of 396 runs. The only player from India to stay on the pitch was Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored the first double century (209) of his international Test career. Apart from him, no other Indian player could touch the figure of 50 runs.

India started the second day with a score of 336/6 in 93 overs. The first wicket of the day fell of Ravichandran Ashwin, fell on the score of 364 runs, Ashwin could contribute only 20 runs. After this, the next wicket fell at 383 runs of Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was caught by James Anderson at the hands of Bairstow at the score of 209 runs. After this, Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar returned to the pavilion after adding just 13 runs. In this way the Indian innings was reduced to 396 runs.

The young player showed excellent composure and technique to score his first double century at the international level. This was an innings where he did not seem troubled and did not give any chance to the opposing team.

James Anderson was the most successful bowler for England, taking three wickets for 47 runs at an average of just 1.90. Shoaib Bashir and Rehan Ahmed also took 3 wickets each, but while Shoaib gave 138 runs, Rehan lost 65 runs.
