Gautam Gambhir Set to Leave His Position as Head Coach! Find Out When

Under Gautam Gambhir’s coaching, the Indian cricket team has faced several defeats at regular intervals. During his brief tenure, the team has lost three series, raising questions about his coaching abilities. The players’ performance has been lackluster, highlighted by a significant 3-1 loss in the Test series. Now, his position as head coach is under threat. If the team underperforms in another upcoming event, he might have to step down.

There’s a lot of pressure on the head coach of the Indian team right now. The team’s performance in the Champions Trophy in February is crucial. If they continue to lose, reports suggest that there could be discussions about his removal. According to a report from PTI, the BCCI believes that Gautam Gambhir needs to deliver impressive results in his coaching role. His position will be reassessed after the Champions Trophy, which will determine his future in coaching.

A source from the BCCI told PTI that if the team doesn’t perform well in the Champions Trophy, the head coach’s role could become unstable. Although his contract runs until the 2027 World Cup, evaluations will keep happening. Under Gambhir’s coaching, the Indian team recently lost an ODI series in Sri Lanka. Following that, they faced a 3-0 defeat in a Test series against New Zealand at home, which was unprecedented. After losing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, the Indian team has also been knocked out of the World Test Championship final.
