Bhopal: Starting today (Monday), Madhya Pradesh is launching a special awareness campaign called “We Will Succeed Week” aimed at ensuring the safety and respect of women. This campaign will run until December 19 and will include various awareness activities. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has urged everyone to contribute to the success of this initiative.
In his message, he emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety and dignity of our daughters and sisters. He pointed out that protecting and respecting women is not just the responsibility of the government or the police; it is a duty for every individual in society. From November 25 to December 19, this campaign will highlight the crucial role men play in challenging the negative attitudes that often lead to violence against women.
Dr. Yadav stated that it is the responsibility of all men to keep the women in their families and communities safe and to care for them. He stressed the need to teach boys from a young age to respect every girl and woman. It is essential to be concerned about preventing physical violence or exploitation against daughters and to treat them as equals. He also mentioned that parents should educate their children about the importance of opposing violence against women and fostering an environment of equality in society and families. Discrimination between sons and daughters, as well as between men and women, must end. For women to be respected and safe, cooperation from society, the government, and the law is essential. Only then can we build a better society where every woman and sister feels secure and can pursue her dreams. Let’s all work together to make the “We Will Succeed Week” a success.
Public Relations Officer Ashok Manwani shared that during this campaign, various awareness activities will be organized over the next 15 days in coordination with different departments. On the first day, there will be a two-day state-level gender sensitization consultation program, where officials from all districts will participate virtually. The second day will feature discussions with youth on gender-based violence and its psychological impact. Additionally, webinars and workshops will be held for Anganwadi workers, childcare institution staff, One Stop Center, Shakti Sadan, Shourya Dal, and Shakti Niwas personnel to address gender sensitivity and related issues. On the third day, November 27, there will be webinars and sessions at the district, block, and village levels focusing on the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act and the legal consequences of violating these laws, along with a pledge for a child marriage-free India.
