Shyam Bai made poultry farming her self-employment

Raipur. Meaningful initiatives are being taken under the good governance of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai to make the women of the state self-reliant. The Chhattisgarh government is promoting small and cottage industries so that more women can join the industry. Women are becoming self-reliant by joining various livelihood activities. With modern times, women are also becoming empowered by making their interests a means of self-employment.

Mrs. Shyam Bai Tandon of Gram Panchayat Meu, which is 33 kilometers away from Janjgir-Champa district, is living a happy life with her family by farming on her land and adopting poultry farming. Shyam Bai told that after the death of her husband Mr. Bharat Tandon in 2004, the entire responsibility of the family came on her. While her husband was alive, she had fulfilled her responsibility by marrying both the girls, but she had the responsibility of herself and the family, in such a situation she did not lose courage and stood on her feet with strength. She has only 92 decimels of agricultural land on which she does traditional farming and she was earning very little.

Shyam Bai also adopted poultry farming as a business for additional income. She is earning good income from this. Under the Chhattisgarh government, a shed has been built for poultry farming in her house under the MNREGA scheme. Shyam Bai told that she earns 7 to 8 thousand rupees per month from poultry farming. She has become self-reliant by doing self-employment through poultry farming and she does not have to beg in front of others. She has expressed gratitude to the Chhattisgarh government for the construction of the poultry shed.
