Serving the elderly gives virtue and blessings: Chief Minister Sai
Raipur. On the occasion of International Senior Citizens Day, a grand Senior Citizens Honor Ceremony was organized at Surajpur District Headquarters today. In the ceremony, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai felicitated the elderly of the district with shawls and coconuts and benefited them with various schemes of the government. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai, while addressing the gathering, said that today is the day of honoring the elderly. He said that I salute all the elderly and urge all of you to serve and respect the elderly, understand their pain and pain and assure them with your service that you are with them. By serving parents and elderly people, you will get virtue and blessings, happiness and with their blessings you will be able to reach your destination.
Chief Minister Shri Sai further said that the Government of Chhattisgarh is running schemes for all sections and the poor, laborers, farmers are getting the benefit of the schemes. The Chief Minister said that more than 14 lakh senior citizens of the state are being given pension amount in their accounts to meet their small needs. To improve the health of the elderly as well as for their treatment, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has provided free treatment facility for elderly people above 70 years of age through Ayushman Card in the budget. In this connection, we have directed the Health Department to make Ayushman cards of all the elderly and provide them free treatment facility.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that every elderly person wishes to go on a pilgrimage once in their lifetime, keeping in mind their sentiments and faith, our government has made arrangements for the darshan of Ramlala in Ayodhya. Apart from going and coming to Ayodhya through train, bus, food and accommodation facilities are also being provided. With this scheme, the people of Chhattisgarh, the land of Mata Kaushalya, are able to go to see their nephew Ram. Chief Minister Shri Sai further said that our government has taken full care of the farmers under Modi’s guarantee. 21 quintals of paddy per acre was purchased from them at Rs 3100 and the amount of bonus due for two years was also provided. To benefit the tendu leaf workers from Surguja to Bastar, our government increased the rate of tendu leaf per standard sack from Rs 4000 to Rs 5500 and by implementing the Mahtari Vandan Yojana to provide financial benefits to more than 70 lakh women, an amount of Rs 1000 per month is being sent to the accounts of women. The Chief Minister said that our government has just completed nine months and we are moving forward by working towards the development of the state by making plans for all sections of the state, in the coming time the pace of development will increase further here.
Addressing the function, the district in-charge and Food Minister Shri Dayaldas Baghel said that parents and elders should always be respected in our home. It is only with their respect and blessings that we are moving forward on the path of development. The Chhattisgarh government is running schemes for the welfare of the elderly. Arrangements for pension, ashram, treatment, PM housing, free food grains and pilgrimage have been made for them.
