Seminar on Career Prospects in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML)

The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Kalinga University organized a seminar on Career Prospects in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML). Students from many schools participated in this informative program.

The seminar started with the traditional lighting of the lamp in front of Goddess Saraswati. The chief guest of the program was Dr. Pradeep Singh, Head of the Department of Computer Science, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur. Dr. R. Udayakumar, Director, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell, Kalinga University was the special guest. Mr. Narendra Dewangan, Director, Best Computer Destination, instructors Ms. Shalu Sinha and Ms. Bhuneshwari Sahu and Mr. Omprakash Dewangan, Head, Department of Computer Science and IT, Kalinga University were also present during the program.

In his address, Dr. Pradeep Singh gave detailed information to the students about Artificial Intelligence including its future, challenges and opportunities. He explained that stunts in movies, self-driving cars and other existing technologies are the result of Artificial Intelligence. He also discussed AI, machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, machine learning algorithms, power of algorithms, traditional machine learning and prompt-based machine learning, among other topics. Students were excited to learn about the future of AI from Dr. Singh’s speech.

Dr. Udayakumar also gave a presentation on AI&ML in detail. He informed the students about IIOT Lab, Centre of Excellence, Technoviz Automation and the difference between Intelligence and AI. Dr. Udaya also explained how machine learning works.

Shri Om Prakash Dewangan gave a live demonstration on drone technology and students were given a presentation on flying a drone using mobile as a remote controller. He further explained that drones can be operated using corded and cordless systems using Bluetooth through M-Block5 software. He also informed the students about coding and the use of Python software. The students thoroughly enjoyed the session.
The programme was followed by engaging sports sessions for the students which included ball throwing, drawing, etc. and the winners were awarded prizes based on their performance. The winners included Mr. Akash, Mr. Prayash Sauber, Ms. Vidya, Mr. Suryakant Sinha and Ms. Manju Soni.

Memorabilia was presented to all the guest speakers and guest Mr. Narendra Dewangan. Mr. Omprakash Dewangan expressed his vote of thanks. The function was conducted by Ms. Alisha Yadav, a B.Com. student. Assistant Professor and Dean in Charge (Student Welfare) Lt. Vibha Chandrakar, Deputy DSW Mr. Sheikh Abdul Qadir, Assistant DSW Ms. Nikita Joshi and members of the Marketing Team were also present during the programme.
