
Bhopal: Panchayat and Rural Development and Labor Minister Prahlad Singh Patel worshipped the water sources under Ganga Jal Sanvardhan Abhiyan at the origin of Pariyat river in Gram Panchayat Bairagi of Kundam development block, village Khamha and the origin of Hiran river in Kundam, Kundeshwar Dham. Minister Patel said that long ago, water supply in Jabalpur was from Pariyat river, but today there is a need to revive it. He said that we all are related to the water of rivers, but the main thing that should be considered is where does the water come from in the rivers. Minister Patel said that we should worry about the fact that water sources should not dry up. The main objective of Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan is also to revive the water structures by removing silt and soil from them. Minister Patel said that Madhya Pradesh is called the motherland of rivers, hence, rivers should also be conserved. There will never be a problem of water by reviving the rivers. Water comes to Narmada from small rivers, to maintain such water sources, plant trees in large numbers. He said that the tribal community worships nature by offering prayers at water sources on Makar Sankranti, Shivratri and Akshaya Tritiya, sometimes water sources are worshipped on both the festivals of Navratri.
Review of preparations for Kavad Yatra at Kailash Dham Panchayat Minister Prahlad Singh Patel reached Kailash Dham of village Matamar and did darshan and puja and discussed in detail about the Kavad Yatra to be held in the month of July under Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan. He said that this will be the 15th Kavad Yatra, all appropriate efforts should be made to make it grand. The road route from where the Yatra passes should be well organized. The hilly path near Kailash Dham should be widened and proper arrangement of drinking water should also be made. He specifically said that trees should be planted under the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan because trees attract rainwater and also provide oxygen and many valuable products.
