Republic Day Celebration at Kalinga University
Raipur. Kalinga University, a leader among private universities, celebrated the 75th Republic Day with patriotic fervour. The event took place on January 26, 2024 at Kalinga University campus in the presence of chief guest Padma Madan Singh Chauhan renowned folk and Sufi singer and other dignitaries.
The ceremony began with the unfurling of the Indian National Flag by Padmashree Madan Singh Chauhan. The atmosphere echoed with the national anthem as the attendees, which included dignitaries, faculty members, NCC cadets and students of Kalinga University, stood in unison to salute the Tricolour.
The event included various cultural programs and activities that showcased the rich diversity and heritage of India. Students Ms. Arpita Pradhan and Ms. Ritu Verma presented a lovely welcome dance. Chief guest Padmashree Madan Singh Chauhan gave the address. He encouraged the people present with encouraging words and presented a heart-touching ghazal in his Sufi style, which was highly appreciated by everyone. Ms. Shashwati Shubhadarshini presented a melodious song. During the celebration, Vice Chancellor of Kalinga University, Dr. R. Sridhar gave an inspiring speech emphasizing the importance of Republic Day.
Students Mehak Sharma, B.Com and Ritesh Jain, BALLB presented patriotic dance, Ankur Kunal and Punyota Mahatam sang songs which added to the joy of the programme.
The vote of thanks was given by the Dean (DSW) in-charge of Student Welfare, Lieutenant Vibha Chandrakar. The coordinator of the program was Professor Dr. A. Rajasekhar of the Department of Geography.
Prominently present on this occasion were Dr. R. Uday Kumar- Dean Faculty of Information Technology, Dr. A. Vijayanand- Dean, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Yadav- Sports Officer, Kamalkant Barik- Security Officer (Retired Captain from Indian Army), Sheikh Abdul Qadir- Deputy DSW and Assistant Professor, Nikita Joshi, Assistant DSW, Preeti Manhar- Warden Girls Hostel, Suman Chauhan- Staff Nurse, Toshan Tarak and students of the university.
