Ram Navami: Today is the Navami of Chaitra month, and on this special day, a crowd of devotees is seen in Ram Mandir. Preparations for Puja
Some special preparations are made for the worship of this day: Take a bath in the morning and wear clean clothes. Install the idol or picture of Lord Rama, Lakshmana, Sita and Hanuman ji. Worship with lamps, incense, naivedya, flowers etc. Listen to the story of Ram Janma or recite Ramcharitmanas. Chant the mantra “Om Shriramaya Namah” or “Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram”. Importance of Shri Ram Chalisa, Shri Ram Chalisa is recited specially on this day. It describes the glory of Lord Ram. Some of the verses are as follows:
“श्री रघुवीर भक्त हितकारी। सुन लीजै प्रभु अरज हमारी॥”
“निशिदिन ध्यान धरै जो कोई। ता सम भक्त और नहिं होई॥”
“तुम अनाथ के नाथ गुंसाई। दीनन के हो सदा सहाई॥”
