Raipur Art Literature and Film Festival on 8th, Padmashree Pandi Ram Mandavi will be the chief guest

Raipur: Raipur Art Literature and Film Festival (RALFF) will be organized in Raipur on 8 February 2025. In which Padmashree Pandi Ram Mandavi will attend as the chief guest. Pandi Ram Mandavi will be awarded Padma Shri in 2025 for the preservation of art and culture. He is an eminent artist of the Gond Muria tribe of Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. He is renowned in the field of traditional musical instrument making and wood craftsmanship. He has a unique identity especially in the manufacture of Bastar flute made of bamboo, called ‘Sulur’.

Festival curator Preeti Upadhyay said that the objective of the festival is to promote the art and culture of Chhattisgarh at the national and international level. In such a situation, the arrival of a personality like Pandi Ram Mandavi as the chief guest will further enhance the dignity of the festival. His life and contribution are a source of inspiration for the new generation. Pandi Ram Mandavi learned this art from his ancestors since childhood and not only preserved it but also took the culture of Chhattisgarh to new heights. His art includes relief paintings, sculptures and other craftsmanship on wooden panels, which have earned him global recognition. Short film competition, literary discussions and cultural presentations will be organised during the festival. Winners will be awarded with certificates, trophies and cash prizes.
