Prime Minister Shri Modi will perform virtual bhoomi pujan for the Rs 778 crore ghat construction work on Kshipra river from Bhopal on May 31

Bhopal: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will perform virtual bhoomi pujan for ghat construction and other works under the ‘Namami Kshipre Project’ as part of preparations for Simhastha Mahaparv from Jamboori Maidan in Bhopal on 31st May. These construction works costing Rs 778.91 crore on Kshipra river are in Dhar, Ujjain, Indore and Dewas districts. Prime Minister Shri Modi will also perform bhoomi pujan for barrage/stop dam/weighted causeway to be constructed at a cost of Rs 83.39 crore. Along with this, repair work of Kaliadeh stop dam costing Rs 1.39 crore will also begin.
Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat informed that ghat construction work will be done on both sides of Kshipra river from Shani Mandir to Nagda bypass in a total length of 29.21 km. Weighted causeway will be constructed to maintain the required water level and traffic for devotees to take bath on the ghats. Keeping in mind Simhastha-2028, construction of barrage on Kshipra river and repair work of stop dam will also be done to keep Kshipra river uninterrupted and flowing.
Barrage/Stop Dam/Weighted Causeway Construction
Minister Shri Silawat informed that on Kshipra river, Water Resources Department Dewas will construct Gajnod Kheda Barrage at a cost of Rs 2.53 crore, Dakhnakhedi Barrage at a cost of Rs 3.23 crore, Patara Barrage cum Causeway at a cost of Rs 3.15 crore, Raniyar Barrage at a cost of Rs 3.79 crore, Tigriyagoga Barrage at a cost of Rs 4.73 crore, Siroj Barrage cum Causeway at a cost of Rs 6.74 crore and Barodpipliya Barrage at a cost of Rs 2.57 crore.
Namami Kshipre Project Unit Ujjain will construct Kitthodarao Stop Dam on Kshipra River at a cost of Rs 8.71 crore, Panthpiplai Stop Dam on Kanh River at a cost of Rs 5.74 crore, Jamalpura Stop Dam at a cost of Rs 4.56 crore, Gothra Stop Dam at a cost of Rs 6.24 crore, Pipaliyaragho No. 02 Barrage at a cost of Rs 5.06 crore and Ramvasa No. 02 Barrage at a cost of Rs 6.34 crore.
Water Resources Department Indore will construct Brahmanpipliya Stop Dam at the cost of Rs. 2.69 crore, Darjikaradia Stop Dam at the cost of Rs. 2.64 crore, Kudana Stop Dam at the cost of Rs. 1.96 crore, Kayasthkhedi Stop Dam at the cost of Rs. 3.43 crore, Sahda Stop Dam at the cost of Rs. 4.32 crore, Lalkhedi Stop Dam repair work at the cost of Rs. 0.53 crore and Melkalma Barrage Sahpulia at the cost of Rs. 4.43 crore. Apart from this, repair work of Kaliadeh Stop Dam will be done by Ujjain Municipal Corporation at the cost of Rs. 1.39 crore. 5 barrages will be constructed on Kanh River in Ujjain district and 6 barrages in Indore district, thus a total of 11 barrages will be constructed. Thus a total of 21 barrages/stop dams will be constructed on Kshipra and Kanh rivers.
