Police Seize Drugs, Arrest Four Including Couple
Nainital: The Nainital police are continuing their crackdown on drug-related activities. They have arrested several drug traffickers from different locations, seizing a significant amount of illegal substances in the process. First Case: Ramnagar Area In the first incident, police raided a house in the Shivnathpur Old Basti area of Ramnagar. During the operation, they discovered 110.45 kilograms of illegal marijuana hidden in eight plastic bags inside a room beneath the floor of a wooden cupboard in the bedroom.
Arrest of a Couple The police arrested a couple at the scene. They have been identified as Naresh Kumar, son of Kunwar Ram, and Kavita, Naresh’s wife, both residents of Shivnathpur Old Basti. The police have filed charges against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Second Case: Pirumadara Area The second incident took place in the Pirumadara area. Police stopped a vehicle on the road leading from Thari village towards Banjari for a routine check. They seized 17.14 kilograms of marijuana from the vehicle, which is estimated to be worth around 32 lakh rupees The suspects have been identified as Digvijay Singh, son of Suresh Chauhan, and Nempal Yadav, son of Pan Singh. Both have also been charged under the **NDPS Act. This ongoing effort by the Nainital police highlights their commitment to tackling drug trafficking in the region.
