Police Personnel Take Preamble Oath Led by DGP

Dehradun: On the occasion of Republic Day, a special program was organized at the Police Headquarters in Dehradun, where Director General of Police (DGP) Deepam Seth hoisted the national flag and led everyone in taking the Preamble oath of the Constitution. Following this, the DGP awarded Rudraprayag Fire Station with the Best Fire Station Trophy and presented state-level awards, including the Governor’s Distinguished Service Medal, the DGP Commendation Disc ‘Gold,’ and the DGP Commendation Disc ‘Silver,’ to several police personnel for their outstanding contributions. In his address, the DGP highlighted the significance of the 76th Republic Day, calling it more than just a date—it is a symbol of India’s democratic spirit. He reminded everyone that the Constitution, implemented on this day in 1950, guarantees equality, freedom, and justice to every citizen of the country.

Paying tribute to the freedom fighters and Constitution framers, the DGP expressed gratitude for their sacrifices and leadership, which paved the way for this historic occasion. Addressing the Uttarakhand Police personnel, he acknowledged their role as protectors of the state, commending their dedication, loyalty, and exemplary performance under all circumstances. The DGP proudly noted that on Republic Day, the Government of India honored one Uttarakhand Police officer with the President’s Distinguished Service Medal and five officers with medals for meritorious service. Additionally, the state presented the Governor’s Distinguished Service Medals to eight personnel, while 15 officers received the DGP Commendation Disc ‘Gold,’ and 30 received the ‘Silver’ Disc. He extended heartfelt congratulations to all the awardees and expressed his hope that the police personnel would continue their hard work, honesty, and exemplary behavior to maintain and further enhance their reputation among the people. The event was attended by V. Murugesan, Additional DGP (Crime and Law & Order), A.P. Anshuman, Additional DGP (Administration/Intelligence and Security), along with all IGs, DIGs, and staff of the Police Headquarters.
