Pay and Play Scheme player Uzair Khan won the Senior State Level Snooker Competition
Bhopal. In the Senior State Level Snooker Competition held at Nehru Stadium, Indore, Pay and Play Scheme player Uzair Khan of Tatya Tope Stadium performed brilliantly and won the title. In the final match, Uzair won by defeating Priyank Jaiswal of Bhopal. In the semi-finals, he defeated Imran Khan of Jabalpur and in the quarter-finals, he defeated National Games gold medalist Piyush Kushwaha by 3.2. Uzair met Sports Director Dr. Ravi Kumar Gupta along with world number 1 player and his coach Mr. Kamal Chawla. The Sports Director congratulated Uzair on this achievement and said that his victory will inspire the youth of the state.
Sports Director Dr. Gupta wished Uzair a bright future and said that he should continue to bring glory to the state and the country in this way. Former DG Mr. Swaraj Puri and assistant coach Sandeep Singh were also specially present on this occasion. Udit Rai, another player of the pay and play scheme of Tatya Tope Stadium, reached the semi-finals by defeating Ketan Chawla of Indore in the quarter-finals, but had to settle for the bronze medal after losing 4.2 to Priyank Jaiswal in the semi-finals. Both the players are training at the stadium under the guidance of Shri Kamal Chawla.
All these players have been selected to represent Madhya Pradesh in the national competition to be held in Indore in January 2025.
