Passenger convenience should be given top priority in bus service operations: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that passenger convenience should be given top priority in the operation of new passenger bus service in the state. Buses should be operated keeping in mind the needs of passengers in rural areas and the importance of intercity routes. Special care should be taken to ensure that passengers get all the benefits of technology platforms like ticket booking, bus tracking easily. He said that a time limit should be set to ensure all the necessary arrangements and it should be ensured that the operation of new passenger bus service in the state starts as soon as possible. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that action should be taken against those bus operators who are not following the rules and conditions mentioned in the permit. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was directing the officials in a meeting held at Samatva Bhavan regarding starting a new passenger bus service in the state and its organizational structure, responsibility and operation. Information about the system operated in other states was also given in the meeting. Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Jain and other officers were present in the meeting. Training centers will be set up at divisional level for training of staff engaged in bus service operation
Information was given in the meeting that management of urban, rural transport service as well as inter-city and inter-state new passenger transport service is proposed to be done by a state level holding company constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister. There will be companies at regional level and transport committees will also be formed for monitoring at district level. Control and command centers will be set up at state level and divisional level offices. Selection and contract of operator will be done through tender process on notified routes. The company will provide assistance to the contracted operators in permit and operation. Training centers will also be set up at divisional level for training of staff engaged in passenger bus service operation.
Updated IT technology solutions will be used
Updated IT technology solutions will be used for the convenience of passengers and better bus service operation. E-ticket, mobile app, bus tracking, occupancy viewing and payment facility will be available for passengers. Operator app, video audit software, field audit dashboard etc. will be arranged for contracted operators. State and division level companies will use the board for control command center software, a booking platform for bus-auto-taxi-metro etc., online e-booking and complete monitoring of buses. Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Mr. SN Mishra, Principal Secretary Mr. Sanjay Shukla, Mr. Manish Rastogi, Principal Secretary, Law Mr. NP Singh were present in the meeting.
