Panchayat and Rural Development: Instructions to get roads repaired immediately after drinking water pipeline work

Raipur. Instructions have been given by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department to get the roads repaired immediately after laying the pipeline in the Jal Jeevan Mission and to include this work as an additional agenda in the meeting of the Gram Sabhas to be held on October 02.

Panchayat and Rural Development Director Priyanka Rishi Mahobia, in a letter sent to the Collectors and Chief Executive Officers, has asked to include the refilling and repair work of the roads dug for laying the pipeline during the Jal Jeevan Mission work as an additional agenda in the meeting of the Gram Sabhas to be held on October 02. It is worth noting that the work of pipeline and Har Ghar Jal Yojana has been completed under Jal Jeevan Mission in most of the Gram Panchayats of the state, but the pits are not being filled after laying the pipeline, due to which accidents are happening at many places. Complaints are also being received in this regard through various means. In view of this, guidelines have been issued by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department.
