Pachmarhi Monsoon Marathon: Runners ran amidst light showers
In the hill station of Narmadapuram district, Pachmarhi, in collaboration with Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB), a grand and successful ‘Adventure and You’ (KA Connect) Pachmarhi Monsoon Marathon was organized. Organized with the cooperation of District Administration Narmadapuram, 1165 runners from all over the country participated in the marathon and the races were held in 42 km, 21 km, 10 km and 5 km categories amidst the natural beauty of Pachmarhi. The marathon race started from MPT Glenview Hotel. The 42 km race started at 3 am. The remaining three races were started at 6 am. It was flagged off by Dr. Shri Santosh Kumar Srivastava, Joint Director of Tourism Board, and Shri Virendra Khandelwal, Deputy Director. People from six-year-old children to 82-year-olds participated in the race. Former Collector of Narmadapuram, Mrs. Das also participated in the 21 km race.
Trophy and medal to winners
After the closing ceremony, the guests gave trophies and medals to the winners. People from all over the country participated in the Monsoon Marathon and enjoyed the natural beauty of Satpura ki Rani Pachmarhi. 82-year-old Mr. Mohan Lal Yadav, Gondia Maharashtra was specially honored. Regional Manager of Tourism Department Mr. A.U. Khan, Assistant Director Mr. K.K. Singh, Mitesh Rambhia from KA Connect were also specially present in the felicitation ceremony.
