Raipur 17 April 2025: The Chhattisgarh government is continuously making committed efforts to further strengthen the civil security system of the state. Concrete steps are being taken towards modernization of resources, technical upgradation of fire services and giving priority to the training and morale of the soldiers. In this episode, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai flagged off 18 new fire fighting vehicles in a program organized at the Nagar Sena Central Training Institute campus located at Mana Camp in the capital Raipur today. On this occasion, he also inaugurated the newly constructed fire station cum residential complex in Sector-13, Nava Raipur and the new Senani office in Mana. Many public representatives and senior administrative officers including Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma were present in the program. A big step towards strengthening emergency services

Chief Minister Sai said that these ultra-modern fire fighting vehicles will give new impetus to the capacity of quick emergency services of the state. He termed it as an important initiative towards ensuring the safety of citizens. The Chief Minister said that the fire fighting system will be strengthened through the inaugurated buildings and the efficiency of our soldiers will also increase. He also clarified that with these new vehicles, incidents of fire can be controlled more effectively and quickly than before, which will ensure the protection of life and property. He said that saving life is the biggest task and the firemen who perform it with full devotion and promptness are our true heroes, whose services are always seen with respect by the society. Demo of emergency service and exhibition of ultra-modern equipment During the program, a demonstration (demo) of emergency service based on the incident of fire was also done by the State Disaster Response Force and Fire Relief Team. Chief Minister Sai watched the entire rescue operation with keen interest and seriousness and praised the promptness and alertness of the soldiers. He also observed the exhibition of ultra-modern equipment used in fire services. Departmental officials informed him about the functioning and utility of equipment like Lucas Jack, Glass Breaker, Air Lifting Bag, Pelican Tower Light, Diamond Tip, Chain Saw, Fire Gel Blanket, Fire Suit and Under Water Camera. Deputy Inspector General of Police Ajat Shatru Bahadur Singh said that in the year 2017, the fire service was transferred from the urban body. At present, an average of 8,000 fire calls are received every year, while in summer this number reaches 40 per day. He said that with the 18 new fire vehicles that have been included today, the department now has a total of 161 fire vehicles available. These vehicles have been handed over to districts like Raigarh, Korba, Kabirdham, Dantewada, Dhamtari, Korea and Ambikapur today. He also informed that NRDA has constructed a fire station cum residential complex for fire and emergency services in Nava Raipur at a cost of Rs 5.5 crore, which was inaugurated today. Fire Safety Week dedicated to Martyr Fire Personnel: Ajata Shatru Bahadur Singh said that Martyr’s Day is celebrated every year on 14th April in the memory of the brave employees who made the supreme sacrifice while performing their duties in the fire services and Fire Safety Week is organised across the country from 14th to 20th April. In the same sequence, Fire Safety Week is being organised this year in Chhattisgarh also. MLA Motilal Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary Home Manoj Kumar Pingua, Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam and Secretary to Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat along with other officers and public representatives were present in the programme.
