This license has been obtained by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
Dr. Devi Shetty, Founder and Chairman of Narayana Hrudayalaya and Chairman of Narayana Health Insurance said, “We are extremely pleased to receive the license to operate as a standalone health insurance company. This is the fastest approval process for health insurance licenses in recent times and shows that the regulator and the government are serious about their commitment to expand insurance access across the country. Narayana Health Insurance will focus on simplifying health insurance by creating comprehensive policies that are also easy to understand. The company is expected to commence business in a few months, with the initial focus being on the Karnataka market.
