MP News : Decision on 50 percent discount in motor vehicle tax rate
The meeting of the Council of Ministers was held in the Ministry under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The Council of Ministers decided to provide 50 percent discount in the lifetime motor vehicle tax rate on the sale of non-transport vehicles and light transport vehicles in the Ujjain Vikramotsav Trade Fair 2024. According to the decision, exemption will be given on getting permanent registration of the sold vehicles from Regional Transport Office, Ujjain. Automobile traders coming from outside Ujjain will be able to sell vehicles after obtaining the business certificate at the Regional Transport Office, Ujjain and ensuring their physical presence in the fair grounds.
Approval of Rs 1692 crore for developing Indore-Ujjain 4-lane into 6-lane with paved shoulder.
The Council of Ministers has given approval to develop Indore-Ujjain 4-lane road into 6-lane with paved shoulder. Its length is 45.475 km. Is. Under the scheme, 45.475 km will be constructed at a cost of Rs 1692 crore. Indore-Ujjain 4-lane road is to be constructed under hybrid annuity model (40:60) with 6-lane paved shoulders. In the project, along with construction of all the structures in 6-lane, Shani Mandir approach road in additional 1.10 km length will be widened to 3-lane. Important junctions in the project will be constructed with grade separators (VUP and flyovers). Two flyovers, six underpasses and eight major junctions falling in the alignment of the route will be constructed under the project. Improvement of all the junctions covered under the scheme, necessary measures for road safety, road marking and road furniture etc. will be done.
Approval of appointment of two members in Public Service Commission

Revised administrative approval of Rs 224 crore 46 lakh for Aonwalia Medium Irrigation Project
The Council of Ministers has given revised administrative approval of Rs 224 crore 46 lakh for the irrigated area of 6703 hectare Rabi of Aonlia Medium Irrigation Project on Ghorapachhad river near village Roshni of Tehsil Khalwa of Khandwa district. It is noteworthy that in the year 2017, the project cost of Rs 165 crore 8 lakh was approved for 5 thousand hectare irrigated area under the said project. The cost has increased by Rs 59 crore 38 lakh due to special package of land acquisition, increase in irrigated area by 1703 acres, increase in construction cost etc. Revised administrative approval of Rs 224 crore 46 lakh has been given for the revised project.
Provision of Rs 1500 crore for infrastructure development work in rural areas
A provision of Rs 1500 crore will be made under capital head for the year 2023-24 to approve new works of infrastructure development work in rural areas under “Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak and Infrastructure Development Yojana”. The Council of Ministers approved the proposal of the department to increase the maximum limit of Index-1 from 3 to 7.
