MP Board 5th & 8th Results: With 80% Copies Checked, How Much Longer for the Final Results?

Board Exam Results for 5th and 8th Grade Likely in Second Week of April
Bhopal: The results for the 5th and 8th-grade board exams in the state are expected to be announced in the second week of April. Around 25 lakh students from government and private schools across the state are eagerly awaiting their results. Initially, the results were supposed to be declared on March 30, but so far, only 80% of the answer sheets have been evaluated. The evaluation process was supposed to be completed by March 24, but with just three days left, it seems unlikely that the remaining work will be finished on time.
Why Is There a Delay in Checking Answer Sheets?
One of the major reasons for the delay is that many teachers are not showing up at the evaluation centers. This has slowed down the process significantly. The State Education Department had planned to announce the results by the end of March, but with 20% of the answer sheets still pending evaluation, the deadline has been pushed further. Additionally, there is a shortage of government school teachers to check the answer sheets of around four lakh English-medium students from private schools. To address this, teachers from private schools have been assigned to the evaluation work. In the capital city, four evaluation centers have been set up, where 834 teachers are responsible for checking 3.5 lakh answer sheets. This includes 1.26 lakh sheets from the 5th grade and 2.05 lakh from the 8th grade. The evaluation process is still ongoing.
Technical Issues Causing Further Delays
Teachers have also reported that entering marks online after evaluation is causing further delays. Each student’s marks must be uploaded individually, and network issues are making it difficult to enter data using tablets. These technical problems are further slowing down the process of finalizing results.
12 Teachers Have Not Reported for Evaluation
Evaluation centers have been set up at Government Girls High School in Jahangirabad, Vidya Vihar School in Professor Colony, Sarojini Naidu Girls School, and the 25th Battalion School in Fanda Rural. However, around 12 teachers have failed to report for duty at these centers. As a result, the District Project Coordinator has issued them show-cause notices. With so many hurdles in the evaluation process, students and parents may have to wait a little longer for the final results.
