Monsoon activity is going to increase in Chhattisgarh from Sunday and due to this there will be rain across the state. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in some areas of North and South Chhattisgarh. The weather will remain the same for the next three days. There will be no significant change in the maximum and minimum temperatures.

Since Saturday morning, there was cloud cover across the state including Raipur and light rain also occurred. However, there was no special effect on the temperature and the weather remained cool. According to meteorologists, the weather will remain the same in the coming days. The coolness of the atmosphere will increase further due to rain and clouds. According to the department, good rain is expected in July.

Weather expert HP Chandra said that the monsoon trough is located at mid sea level over Bikaner, Jaipur, Gwalior, Satna, Bagati and then towards the south-east to the north-east Bay of Bengal. Also, an upper air cyclonic circulation is at a height of 0.9 km to 7.6 km above south-west Uttar Pradesh. Due to its effect, light to moderate rain will occur in most parts of the state on Monday, July 8. Heavy rain is also expected in North and South Chhattisgarh.

Rainfall in these areas

On Saturday, 5 cm rain occurred in Orchha, 4 cm in Jagdalpur, 3 cm in Chhotedongar-Kondagaon, 2 cm in Pakhanjur-Pendraroad-Balrampur-Raigarh. Along with these areas, light to moderate rain occurred in various parts of the state.
