Minister’s Controversial Statement Triggers Protest, Calls for Immediate Action
Demand for Removal of Minister Premchand Aggarwal and Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri After Assembly Uproar Following the uproar during the assembly session, Mool Niwas Bhoo-Kanoon Sangharsh Samiti convener Mohit Dimri has demanded the immediate dismissal of Premchand Aggarwal from his ministerial position and the removal of Ritu Khanduri as the Assembly Speaker. He has called on Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami and the BJP government to take swift action.
Warning of Statewide Protest If No Action is Taken
Mohit Dimri warned that if Premchand Aggarwal is not removed from his post, a mass movement will be launched across the state against the government. He accused the minister of repeatedly engaging in actions that hurt the sentiments of the hill community. He recalled past incidents where Aggarwal allegedly assaulted a young man from the hill region in Rishikesh in the middle of the road.
Minister’s Words in Assembly Reflect His Mindset: Dimri
Dimri further criticized the minister, stating that Aggarwal had earlier defended the VIP involved in the Ankita Bhandari murder case without a proper investigation. He also accused him of mistreating Uttarakhand activists who visited his office. Dimri stated that using derogatory words for the people of the hills in the assembly clearly reflects Aggarwal’s mindset.
An Insult to the Martyrs and Activists of Uttarakhand
Dimri emphasized that allowing such a person to continue as a minister is an insult to the martyrs and activists of Uttarakhand. He urged the people of the state to question their MLAs who remained silent when Premchand Aggarwal made offensive remarks about people of hill origin in the assembly.
Accusation Against Assembly Speaker and Call for Protest
Dimri also accused Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri of protecting Premchand Aggarwal. He pointed out that while she remained silent when Aggarwal used abusive language against the hill community, she became furious when opposition members protested against him. He issued a warning that if Premchand Aggarwal is not removed as a minister and Ritu Khanduri is not replaced as the Assembly Speaker, the people of Uttarakhand will take to the streets in protest.
