May we get the opportunity to take holy bath in Maa Kshipra throughout the year: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Major project control board meeting held
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that all saints and devotees should get the privilege of taking holy bath in Maa Kshipra throughout the year. For this, conserve the original water of Kshipra river during rainy season. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the meeting of the Big Project Control Board in Samatva Bhavan located in the Chief Minister’s residence. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that bathing in Kshipra river has special religious significance. Complete the construction work of Sevarkhedi-Silarkhedi irrigation project before the start of Simhastha. Special care should be taken to ensure that the people of Ujjain get full supply of drinking water. Plan other sources for water supply in Vikram Udyogpuri. Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister and Water Resources and Narmada Valley Development Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Principal Secretary Finance Mr. Manish Rastogi and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.
It is noteworthy that Sevarkhedi-Silarkhedi irrigation project is being constructed to keep Kshipra river flowing continuously. Under the project, a dam will be built in village Sevarkhedi at a cost of Rs 614 crore 53 lakh, in which the water of Kshipra river during rainy season will be lifted and stored in Silarkhedi pond located in village Silarkhedi. The water stored in Silarkhedi pond will be re-flowed into Kshipra river after rainy season.
