Ujjain: Singer Shehnaz Akhtar Visits Mahakal Temple, Donates Over 2 Lakh
Renowned singer Shehnaz Akhtar visited the Jyotirlinga Mahakal Temple in Ujjain to seek the blessings of Lord Mahakal. During her visit, she donated ₹2,01,000 to the temple management committee. In appreciation of her gesture, the committee honored her. After offering prayers, Shehnaz spoke to the media and shared her deep devotion to Lord Mahakal. She mentioned that she and her family have been visiting the temple regularly for the past five years. Expressing gratitude, she said, “This sacred place has given me everything. Whatever I am today is because of Lord Mahakal’s blessings.” Her devotional song “Takdeer Mujhe Le Chal Mahakal Ki Basti Mein” has gained immense popularity among devotees.
Additional Chief Secretary Neeraj Mandloi Also Visits Mahakal Temple
Madhya Pradesh’s Additional Chief Secretary Neeraj Mandloi also visited the Mahakal temple and bowed before Lord Mahakal from the Nandi Mandapam. The temple’s Deputy Collector Simi Yadav, on behalf of the management committee, honored him with a shawl and the sacred Mahakal Laddu Prasad. Notably, Neeraj Mandloi previously served as the Collector of Ujjain. He was in the city on Sunday to attend a review meeting regarding public works projects.
Mahakaleshwar Flag Procession on March 19
On Rangpanchami, March 19, the Mahakaleshwar Flag Procession will be organized with grand celebrations. The temple priests and the Purohit community are making elaborate arrangements for the event. As in previous years, this time too, the procession will showcase vibrant folk traditions and cultural performances. Similar processions will also take place in Singhpuri, Kartik Chowk, and Bhagsipura. The “Gair” procession, a symbol of valor and devotion, will see members of the Brahmin community carrying flags and religious insignia while displaying their martial skills. The event will also feature musical bands, traditional performances, and grand illuminated tableaux, making it a visual spectacle.
