Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that Madhya Pradesh is a state rich in forest wealth. There is a rich store of medicinal herbs here. The Covid pandemic has re-introduced the world to the importance of Ayurveda. He praised the state government for distributing Ayurvedic Kadha for the treatment of patients during the pandemic. Governor Patel said that organizing the forest fair is a pleasant sign towards spreading awareness about the importance of forest resources, their conservation and promotion. Governor Patel was addressing the inaugural program of the 10th International Forest Fair.
On the occasion of inauguration, Governor Patel along with Chief Minister Dr. Yadav distributed incentive remuneration to the beneficiaries under the Minor Forest Produce Federation. The 10th International Forest Fair is being organized by the Forest and State Minor Forest Produce (Trade and Development) Cooperative Federation at Lal Parade Ground Bhopal from 17 to 23 December. The program was presided over by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that modern medical science has its own importance, but medicines obtained from forests have special utility. Ayurveda helped save people’s lives during the difficult times of Corona. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has promoted Indian medical systems. Now the importance of AYUSH has increased again in the medical world. Events like forest fairs are very important in this regard. In fact, this International Forest Fair is unique. This fair started in 2001 and gradually it went beyond the state to the country and then became global. The fair has created its own identity. Generally, it is a matter of pride for all of us that fairs have expanded so much due to forests and forest wealth. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the 10th International Forest Fair at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the forest wealth of our state is unique. We are fortunate that our forest wealth, the internal environment of the forests is also special and the forests of the state have a distinct identity. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that wild animals are the ornaments of our forest, due to which the forest is beautiful. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, success has been achieved in restoring cheetahs in Madhya Pradesh. All types of tigers, leopards, cheetahs are important in wildlife conservation. We are number one in the country in tigers. In fact, it is a matter of pride for us that the land of Madhya Pradesh has been selected for restoration. The leopards had disappeared from entire Asia. For this, the officers and employees of the forest department also deserve congratulations. The forest department has done this unique experiment. This experiment is yielding good results for them. Gradually, new guests are coming to us. It seems that the environment of Madhya Pradesh has become favorable. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the forest dwellers of the state also contribute significantly in protecting the forests.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the opportunity was given to sign a tripartite agreement in Jaipur today for the Parvati-Kali Sindh-Chambal project, important from the point of view of irrigation, industry and drinking water between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. 90 percent of the amount for the project will be provided by the Central Government.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the activities of Jankalyan Parv, which started from 11 December, will continue till 26 December. Every day a new gift is being given to the people of the state. Recently, the sanctuary inaugurated near the capital has been named after archaeologist Dr. Vishnu Shridhar Wakankar. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav appealed to the citizens to buy the medicines displayed in the forest fair and get benefits. He congratulated the Forest Department for the best organization. Initially, Governor Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav presented cheques of bonus amount for the tendu leaf collection work of the year 2023 to 9 tendu leaf collectors who came from Raisen, Vidisha, Seoni and other districts.
Minister of State for Forests Dilip Ahirwar said that this fair is a symbol of divinity and grandeur. The state government has increased the honorarium of tendu leaf collectors from three thousand rupees to four thousand rupees per standard sack. Important decisions have been taken in the department regarding compassionate appointment, relief amount on accident. MLA Shri Bhagwan Das Sabnani, Additional Chief Secretary Forest Ashok Barnwal and Principal Chief Forest Conservator and Forest Force Chief Asim Srivastava were also present in the program. In the beginning, MD of Minor Forest Produce Federation Vibhas Thakur gave the welcome speech. Bamboo baskets and other forest products were given to the guests as souvenirs.
Governor Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav visited various stalls in the forest fair. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav met and discussed with the artist group associated with tribal folk arts while playing the traditional musical instruments of the tribal society.
