Madhya Pradesh has become an ideal centre for better conservation and management of all wildlife including tigers: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Madhya Pradesh has the pride of being a Tiger State, there are 9 Tiger Reserves in our state. The number of all wildlife including tigers is continuously increasing and Madhya Pradesh has become an ideal center for their conservation and their better management. Participation of the local community is also being encouraged for wildlife conservation. These efforts of the state government will strengthen the ecosystem and also encourage tourism activities in the state. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the state level program on the occasion of ‘International Tiger Day’ at Kushabhau Thackeray Convention Center Bhopal on Tuesday. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the state level program of International Tiger Day by lighting the lamp and congratulated the people of the state on Nag Panchami. During this, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated three wildlife vehicles, three wildlife medical vehicles and two dog squad rescue vehicles for transportation of wildlife. He also got information about the facilities available in the vehicles for wildlife transportation.
Due to the tireless efforts of forest workers, the state is enriching forest area and wildlife Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that due to the tireless efforts of forest workers, the forest area in the state is enriching and the number of wildlife is also increasing. Madhya Pradesh is emerging as an example of tiger and man living together. Implementing the visionary thinking of Prime Minister Shri Modi, the state has also been successful in the restoration of cheetahs. Ratapani has got the status of the eighth tiger reserve in the state. The state government has planned to develop zoos and wildlife rescue centers in Ujjain and Jabalpur. These will not be just traditional zoos, but will be developed as “wildlife rescue centers” dedicated to the conservation and rehabilitation of wildlife. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that there are more tigers in our country than in the whole world. If any state in the country proudly keeps tigers in its state, then that state is Madhya Pradesh. Dr. Vishnu Shridhar Wakankar Ratapani and Madhav National Park – both tiger reserves have been built by us. He said that on my behalf, I congratulate all of you for the pride of the state. Tiger safari will also be started in the buffer zone near the tiger reserve.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the exhibition focused on wildlife conservation. Sisters who came from tribal areas of the state to display their products in the exhibition tied Rakhi to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. Reaching the stall set up at the venue of the “Bagh Dev” campaign being run by Pench Tiger Reserve to encourage community participation in tiger conservation and management, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav made a replica of a tiger from a mold, wishing for an increase in the number of tigers in the state.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav released several books including Pench-Tiger and Butterflies Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also released the Hindi version of State Wildlife Plan 2023-2043, manual developed on cheetah anesthesia and management, report developed on the conclusions of the workshop on future wildlife management, book developed by Pench Tiger Reserve and vulture census report. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also released the dossier developed by Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve for marking elephants and special cover published by the Department of Posts on International Tiger Day and poster focusing on wild owl species. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav launched the app “Gajrakshak” developed to reduce elephant-human conflict.
Teaser of film “Abode of Cheetahs” focused on cheetah rehabilitation released. Teasers of various documentaries were released in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. Under this, teasers of film developed by Pench Tiger Reserve on “Tiger Management with the participation of local community”, film “Mrityunjay” developed by Kanha Tiger Reserve, film “Satpura Kal Aaj Aur Kal” focused on Satpura Tiger Reserve and film “Abode of Cheetahs” focused on cheetah rehabilitation were released.
Forest workers and institutions doing excellent work in wildlife conservation were honored. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave awards for excellent work in wildlife conservation. Under this, members of the crime investigation team who got international tiger smuggler punished and were praised by Interpol were honored. Members of the active wildlife management team were also honored for the efficient management-promotion and conservation of cheetahs brought from South Africa. Mrs. Shobha Jaware, Director, School of Wild Life Forensic and Health, Jabalpur was honoured for her significant contribution in the health, monitoring and treatment of wild animals in the state and for her cooperation in the health and treatment of leopards. In this sequence, Forest Range Officer Madhav Tiger Reserve Ms. Shubhi Jain was honoured for her contribution in tiger rehabilitation, Forest Range Officer Sanjay Tiger Reserve Mr. Mahavir Singh Pandey was honoured for his commendable contribution in village displacement, Mr. Maniram Mahwat of Satpura Tiger Reserve was honoured for his contribution in tiger monitoring and gaur rehabilitation, and Forest Guard of Forest Division Mandsaur Mr. Dinesh Singh Kushwaha was honoured for his contribution in the continuous monitoring and protection of leopards. Under the Wildlife Rescue category, Forest Guard Mr. Ram Suresh Verma of Satna and Forest Guard Mr. Ram Pal Prajapati of Panna Tiger Reserve were honoured. Mirchibari Eco Development Committee of Pench Tiger Reserve was felicitated for its contribution in village development and reducing wildlife conflict, Mahout of Kanha Tiger Reserve Mr. Gulab Singh Uike for his contribution in wildlife protection and their relocation and Security worker of Pench Tiger Reserve Mr. Hriday Maskole for playing an important role in rural development and providing tourist facilities.
Innovations are being done in the state for wildlife conservation – Forest Minister of State Mr. Ahirwar Forest and Environment Minister Mr. Dilip Singh Ahirwar said that Satpura Tiger Reserve of the state has played an important role in making India achieve international recognition in wildlife conservation. Madhya Pradesh has been recognized as Tiger State in the world. Madhya Pradesh ranks first in the number of tigers, leopards, vultures and wolves. Vultures were counted under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, innovations are being done in the state for the conservation of other wildlife. MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma, Municipal Corporation Chairman Shri Kishan Suryavanshi, Shri Ravindra Yati, Additional Chief Secretary Forest Shri Ashok Barnwal, Principal Chief Forest Conservator and Forest Force Chief Shri Asim Shrivastava, members of Forest Protection Committees, Eco Development Committee, Village Forest Committee and officers and employees of Forest Department were present in the program.
