Lalbagh historical site will be reconstructed in 24 months for beautification and tourism promotion: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Tuesday reached Indore’s historic Lalbagh Palace and garlanded the statue of Subedar Malharrao Holkar, founder of the Holkar dynasty. He performed the Bhoomi Pujan for the renovation and garden redevelopment work of Lalbagh Palace at a cost of Rs 47.59 crore. He also visited Lalbagh Palace, where he observed the historical structure and beauty of the palace.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav took stock of the progress of efforts to preserve this historical heritage and got information about the features of the meeting room, Crown Hall, Banquet Hall, Durbar Hall, King’s Office, Consultation Room, Western Meeting Room, Indian Dining Room for Men and Women, Ball Room etc. Architect Mr. Puneet Sohal gave a presentation of the Lalbagh Palace project. He apprised Chief Minister Dr. Yadav of the work done for the renovation and redevelopment of Lalbagh Palace and the upcoming work plan.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed his wish for the successful completion of this ambitious work. This work is a symbol of a new beginning for the rich history of Lalbagh and its re-establishment. This work will be done with the aim of keeping the garden and the heritage of the Holkars alive, developing the garden as a socio-cultural activity site and redeveloping it as per the design based on the historical concept. For this, approval of Rs 47.59 crore has been received under the Simhastha item. This work will be done by Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation. The time limit for the work is 24 months i.e. May 2027. In this, work will be done on boundary wall, pathway, parking, soft scaping and irrigation, public facilities, ticket counter, garden cafe, open air stage, pavilion, Rani Ahilya Bai Self Defense Center (for girls), vegetation protection house, external electrification, decorative light pillars, pipe music system for the garden, CCTV etc.
Members of the Council of Ministers and other public representatives were also present on this important occasion, who supported the importance of the project and the government’s resolve towards development.
