Lakhpati Didis of MP will interact with PM Modi, will also receive certificates of honour
BHOPAL. PM Narendra Modi will interact with Lakhpati Didis of Madhya Pradesh and will honour them. The honour programme is being held in Jalgaon, Maharashtra on Sunday, 25th August. Five Lakhpati Didis of Madhya Pradesh have reached Jalgaon to attend the programme. PM Modi will give certificates of honour to Lakhpati Didis of Madhya Pradesh. Among them, Lakhpati Didi of Guna district, Smt. Ganga Ahirwar will be given the certificate of honour. It is noteworthy that after getting the target of making Lakhpati Didis in 100 days from the Central Government, 96 thousand 240 sisters in Madhya Pradesh became Lakhpati Didis. They have been given financial assistance, market assistance and technical assistance by Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission. To make the products of their self-help groups reach the big markets, online marketing is being done by bringing them on digital platforms.
It is noteworthy that about 62 lakh poor families of villages have joined about five lakh women self-help groups formed in Madhya Pradesh and they are becoming socio-economically empowered. Lakhpati CRP (Community Resource Person) didis are identifying the member sisters of self-help groups who have the potential to become Lakhpati didis. Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Patel said that Lakhpati didis are the pride of Madhya Pradesh.
Lakhpati didi Sangeeta Malviya of Sehore district and Lakhpati didi Kamini Sharma of Guna will interact with Prime Minister Shri Modi. Lakhpati didi Lakshmi Tirke of Chhindwara district and Lakhpati didi Roshni Lodhi of Dewas district will also be present.
After the program in Jalgaon, programs will be organized at the Cluster Level Federation (CLF) level of Madhya Pradesh, where all the Lakhpati didis of CLF will be given certificates of honor. About Rs 110 crore bank loan (CCL) amount will be given to women self-help groups in all the districts of the state and about Rs 171 crore Community Investment Fund (RF CIF) will be distributed.
Ganga Ahirwar of Mahalpur village of Guna district did wonders at the young age of 28. About 7 years ago, she formed Uma Self-Help Group with 44 women. Through this group, she set up a canteen in the Collectorate premises in the year 2019 and met the household expenses from the income from breakfast and tea.
Ganga Didi was selected as a potential Lakhpati Didi in the 100-day action plan of the Government of India. Ganga Didi was running a canteen in the Collectorate premises Guna since the year 2019. She used to earn Rs 800 per day by making tea and breakfast.
Since Ganga Didi had taken training in cooking from IHM Bhopal. Along with breakfast, she started serving food and tiffin. Later, the canteen was expanded and a restaurant was started, which resulted in saving of about 15-20 thousand rupees every month. About 40-60 tiffins started going every day. Now Ganga Didi has been earning about 15-20 thousand rupees per month for the last three months by doing work like canteen, advanced agricultural work, orchard, sewing. She has joined the category of Lakhpati Didi.
Roshni Lodhi, a resident of Kajlivan, a small village in Bagli block of Dewas district, used to work as a housewife after marriage and help her in-laws and husband in farming. Due to lack of money, they used to take loans from nearby villages.
Roshni Lodhi formed a self-help group in 2019. Initially, she saved 20 rupees per week and started fulfilling the small needs of the house through group loan. Roshni Lodhi formed 50 self-help groups with 600 women from the nearby villages and motivated them to start livelihood activities. Thus, as an active community resource person, she started earning some income. Through the self-help group, Roshni took training as a bank BC and as a second livelihood, she took a loan of Rs. 50,000 from the village organization and bought a computer and printer and started working as a bank Sakhi.
Roshni started the work of sewing uniforms along with her mother-in-law, father-in-law and husband. She also involved other women of the village. During the formation of the group, she was selected as a bank Sakhi for bank work. She took a 7-day training of bank BC and passed the examination of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance. She started working as a bank BC in the branch of Bank of India, Newri. Today she is providing banking facilities in many nearby villages. She is successfully doing transactions of 3 to 5 lakh rupees per day and 20 to 25 lakh rupees per month. She gets 20 to 25 thousand rupees every month as commission.
