Jammu and Kashmir is emerging as an agricultural hub: Dr. Jitendra Singh
Delhi. Union Minister of State for Science and Technology (Independent Charge); Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Minister of State for Personnel & Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that Jammu and Kashmir is emerging as an agriculture start-up hub.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that the lavender fields of Bhaderwah have been displayed in the Republic Day tableau on the Path of Duty, which is a testimony to the fact that Jammu and Kashmir has been recognized at the national level as the birthplace of the “Purple Revolution”. He said that the foundation of this Agri Startup Hub has been laid in the picturesque town Bhaderwah in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, where lavender is cultivated on a large scale.

Addressing the farmers’ conference organized by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine) at Hiranagar, Kathua today, the Union Minister presented a tableau on the path of duty in the national capital on the occasion of Republic Day. Dr Singh underlined that this achievement is due to the personal efforts of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Government’s measures to provide all possible support, be it providing training to the youth or ensuring industry linkage for lavender products or making other necessary provisions and He said that products made from lavender are sold in thousands in states like Maharashtra and due to which the producers get huge revenue.
The Minister reminded that it was Prime Minister Shri Modi who had given a clarion call for Start Up India, Stand Up India from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort. After the Prime Minister’s call, people joined this movement. Dr. Singh said that as a result, the number of start-ups has now increased from 350 to 1.25 lakh, making India third in the world in this field.
The Union Minister urged the youth to join the agriculture start-up ecosystem so that they can contribute to value addition to the economy as well as realize the national goal of making India the number one economy in the next 25 years of the AMRUT period. Can help.
