It is necessary to make society aware of the changing nature of cyber crime: Governor Patel
Governor Mangubhai Patel said that the advancement of science and technology has changed the nature of cyber crimes. It is very important to make the society aware of the changing patterns of cyber crime such as digital arrest, hacking, phishing etc. Governor Patel was addressing the inaugural program of the 7th International Conference R.T.I.P. 2 R- 2024 on the topic “Recent Trends in Image Processing and Pattern Recognition” at MANIT Bhopal. This three-day conference has been organized at the MANIT campus under the joint aegis of Indian Institute of Information Technology and Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology Bhopal.
Governor Patel said that today is the digital age. Therefore, society needs awareness about both the positive and negative aspects of science and technology. He asked the experts to discuss the progress of science and technical knowledge contained in the Indian knowledge tradition in the interest of society and the nation. Through the conference, come forward to contribute to the development of transformative areas of technology.
Governor Patel said that Madhya Pradesh has a rich cultural heritage. The state has the farsighted approach and immense possibilities required for technological and industrial development. The state’s policies and practices are in line with the theme of the international conference. He appreciated the initiative on the possibilities of image processing and artificial intelligence, the main components of the digital revolution, through mutual cooperation.
GovernorPatel inaugurated the conference by offering flowers to the Saraswati statue and lighting the lamp. He was welcomed with a bouquet of flowers and felicitated by presenting a shawl, coconut and a memento.
In the program, subject expert Mr. K.C. Santosh of South Dakota University USA and Dr. Vinayatosh Mishra working in Dubai threw light on the possibilities of research on the subject of image processing and pattern recognition. Director of MANIT Institute Mr. K.K. Shukla gave information about research, development in the field of Artificial Intelligence through the institute and innovations being done in the field of health along with AIIMS Bhopal. Director of IIIT Prof. Mr. Ashutosh Kumar Singh gave detailed information on the organization of the conference, its objectives and the importance of technology and research in building a developed India. Dr. Deep Chandra Joshi expressed his gratitude. Subject experts, researchers and students from India and abroad were present in the conference. Along with them, experts and students from remote areas also joined online.
