Both Pant and Iyer surpassed the previous record set by Mitchell Starc last year, who was sold for ₹25 crore. In addition to Pant and Iyer, there was also significant interest in Venkatesh Iyer, who was acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for ₹23.75 crore.
Indian fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, and KL Rahul also saw hefty bids. Arshdeep and Chahal were bought by the Punjab Kings for ₹18 crore, while Rahul was signed by Delhi for ₹14 crore.
