IPL 2024: Do or die match for Rajasthan-Hyderabad
When the teams of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals will face each other in the Qualifier-2 match at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on Friday, it will be like do or die for both the teams. Hyderabad have got another chance to qualify for the finals by finishing in the top-two of the table, while Rajasthan will have to overcome one more hurdle to enter the title match. Both the teams have participated in Qualifier-2 before and this has been a period full of sour and sweet memories for Rajasthan and Hyderabad.
Kolkata had defeated Hyderabad
Two-time champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) performed brilliantly in the Qualifier-1 match played against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and proudly made it to the finals by defeating Hyderabad by eight wickets. Sunrisers Hyderabad, batting first, scored 159 runs in 19.3 overs with the help of Rahul Tripathi’s 35 balls with seven fours and one six. In reply, KKR won the match by scoring 164 runs for two wickets in 13.4 overs. Hyderabad team stood second in the table, hence despite losing the Qualifier-1 match, its journey did not end.
Rajasthan had knocked out RCB
In the eliminator of IPL 2024, Rajasthan Royals defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by four wickets and were eliminated from the tournament. Batting first after losing the toss, Bengaluru scored 172 runs losing eight wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Rajasthan achieved the target by losing six wickets in 19 overs. Rajasthan had crossed the first hurdle to reach the final, but due to being third in the table, they will now have to face Hyderabad.
