Injured female leopard rescued and brought to Van Vihar National Park
On May 9, in Van Vihar National Park, an injured female leopard was rescued and brought to Van Vihar from the house of a villager in the Lateri range of Vidisha general forest division. Van Vihar was kept in quarantine. The injured female leopard is being treated by Van Vihar’s wildlife doctor Dr. Atul Gupta after consulting experts. Senior Veterinarian of State Veterinary Hospital, Bhopal, Dr. Sunil Kumar Tumadia, Wildlife Veterinarian of Van Vihar, Dr. Atul Gupta and Wildlife S.O.S. On May 14, Van Vihar’s wildlife doctor Dr. Rajat Kulkarni sedated the injured female leopard and conducted a joint health checkup. During the examination by the team, it was found that the bones of the back left paw were found broken and due to it being gangrenous and in order to save the life of the injured female leopard, its paw was amputated. The activities of the female leopard are being monitored and she is being continuously treated.
