In-principle approval of Rs. 21,630 crores for connecting 20,600 remote settlements of the state to the main road

 Bhopal: The cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was held in the ministry on Tuesday. The cabinet gave in-principle approval of Rs 21,630 crore to provide year-round connectivity to remote settlements of the state like Majra/Tola/Dhoni/Pura etc. under the Chief Minister Majra-Tola Road Scheme. As per the approval, the scheme will be implemented in two phases. In the first phase from the financial year 2025-26 to 2029-30 and in the second phase from the financial year 2030-31 to 2034-35, a total of an estimated 30 thousand 900 km of road will be constructed. The scheme will be implemented from the state fund. The authoritative committee of Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority has been authorized to take decisions regarding the scheme.

As per the approval, areas having an area of ​​more than 6 thousand square meters with a minimum of 20 houses and a population of more than 100, which do not have an all-weather road within a distance of 50 meters, will be considered as settlements. For this, a priority list will be prepared constituency-wise in the decreasing order of the population of the settlement. On the basis of local needs of the villagers such as security, health, education etc., in consultation with the MP, regional MLA and District Panchayat members, the Collector can make changes in the priority of settlements for reasons recorded. The final priority list will be published at the state level. Under the scheme, about 30 thousand 900 kilometers of road will be constructed to connect 20 thousand 600 settlements to the main road.

Decision to give complete exemption from Mandi fee on tur imported from outside the state

Keeping in view the need of tur dal industry in the state, the cabinet decided to give complete exemption from market fee on tur imported from outside the state. By giving exemption, there will be sufficient availability of tur dal in the state. Along with this, transportation will increase and employment will increase.

In-principle approval for construction of working women hostels in Jhabua, Singrauli, Dewas, Narmadapuram

The Council of Ministers has given in-principle approval for the construction of 4 working women hostels with a capacity of 350 seats approved under the SASCI (Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment) 2024-25 scheme with the aim of making the life of working women easier in Jhabua, Singrauli, Dewas and Narmadapuram. The scheme will be operated in PPP mode. Rs 40 crore 59 lakh will be spent on the scheme.

Approval for the formation of “District Development Advisory Committee” under the chairmanship of Chief Minister

The Council of Ministers approved the formation of a “District Development Advisory Committee” under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister in all districts to prepare a roadmap for the development plan of the district and to make long-term development plans for the district. It is noteworthy that in the budget speech for the financial year 2025-26, instructions were given to form a District Development Advisory Committee in all the districts of Madhya Pradesh.

The minister in charge of the district will be the vice-president of the District Development Advisory Committee. The MP, all the MLAs of the district, the Mayor or Municipal Chairman of the district headquarters, the District Panchayat Chairman, all the Janpad Chairman of the district along with 20 representatives from the fields of industry, trade, progressive farmers, social workers, medical, law etc. have been included as members. The Collector will be the Member Secretary of the Committee.

The objectives of the committee are to make plans for the long-term development of the district in accordance with the needs and suggestions of the people of the district, public representatives and other stakeholders. Along with this, the committee will prepare a roadmap for the prosperity of the district by identifying the traditional skills of the district and promoting them at the national and international level in view of the Prime Minister’s principle of “Vocal for Local”. Keeping in mind the local conditions of the district, the committee will consider the suggestions for better implementation of government schemes.

Giving concrete shape to the innovations prevalent in the district through local efforts in the form of a plan. Suggestions regarding employment generation in the district and the goals of developed Madhya Pradesh, suggestions for the district’s action plan in the areas of industry, trade, conservation of water structures, export, agriculture, minerals etc. are included.
