Raigarh, 10 December 2024 Regarding the Agniveer recruitment rally going on at Boirdadar Stadium, according to the primary information received through the organizers of the Army, on Monday, 09 December 2024, Manoj Kumar Sahu, father Anil Kumar Sahu, age 20 years, address-Village-Khorpa, Block / Tehsil – Abhanpur, District-Raipur (CG), successfully completed the first stage 1600 m race at Army Recruitment Center Stadium Raigarh. Immediately after completing the first stage, before applying biometric in the next stage, suddenly fell on the ground. The candidate was immediately examined on the spot by the medical team of the District Health Department present in the stadium. After preliminary investigation by the doctors present on the spot, it was found that the candidate was having a lot of difficulty in breathing.
The SPO2 oxygen saturation level of the candidate was continuously decreasing, due to which the candidate was found conscious but disoriented. He was immediately referred to the District Hospital, Raigarh through ambulance while providing first aid along with medical oxygen supply. Where the candidate was brought in an unconscious state, who was intubated and stabilized and sent to Higher Center Medical College, Raigarh. Where proper treatment was done by the team of specialists of Raigarh Medical College. But due to the condition of the candidate being very serious, he died on 09 December 2024 at 11:35 pm. As per the statement of the family members and the investigation of the doctors, it was found that the candidate Manoj Kumar Sahu was already suffering from sickle cell disease. On 10 December 2024, in the morning, the post-mortem was conducted by a team of specialist doctors of the medical college in the presence of the family members, after which the body was handed over to the family and sent to the native village Khorpa, Tehsil-Abhanpur District Raipur along with the Tehsildar and CEO District. Financial assistance was provided by the district administration for the last rites. And financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh will also be provided from the Chief Minister’s Vishvagyanudan.
