Health services will be strengthened in Indore, Rs 900 crore approved

The general council meeting of the autonomous body of Mahatma Gandhi Smriti Medical College Indore was concluded under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla. Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Shukla took detailed information about the educational system of the medical college, the number of visiting patients in the hospital associated with the college, the medical facilities provided. Mr. Shukla said that a master plan will be made for the renovation, expansion, development of MGM Medical College of Indore’s MY Hospital and other hospitals associated with it and to equip them with modern medical facilities. A new trauma center of 100 beds will also be built in MY Hospital. Along with this, new services will also be added in the super specialty hospital. The number of beds in various departments of MY Hospital will also be increased. Cancer hospital will be expanded.

Expansion of facilities is necessary for better treatment of patients

Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Shukla said that MY Hospital is the largest hospital in the entire central India including Malwa. Expansion of facilities is extremely important so that no patient visiting the hospital has to face any problem and gets the best possible treatment. He also directed the departmental officers to fill the vacant posts soon. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla directed to prepare and submit a master plan within 7 days as per the discussion for strengthening health services. It is worth mentioning that MY Hospital, Super Specialty Hospital, Cancer Hospital, MTH Hospital, Tuberculosis Diagnosis Hospital and other hospitals are associated with Mahatma Gandhi Smriti Medical College. It is estimated that Rs 900 crore will be spent on the proposed development works.
