Misuse of fake ration cards and Ayushman Yojana-Many people had got fake ration cards made by hiding their real income. These cards were being used to get free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. The government is suffering huge losses due to this scam.
Chief Minister Dhami’s tough stand: immediate action-Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken the matter seriously and has ordered immediate action. Two FIRs have been registered at Kotwali Nagar and Rajpur police stations and the police is investigating. It is the government’s priority to punish the culprits.
Eligibility criteria and ineligible beneficiaries-The government scheme was only for families with an annual income of less than Rs 5 lakh, but many ineligible people took advantage of it with fake documents. This clearly shows that there are loopholes in the system.
Joint investigation and future strategy-This scam came to light in a joint investigation by the District Supply Officer and the Health Department. Action has been taken on the basis of the report given to SSP Dehradun. The government will now take strict steps to stop such malpractices.
