For a developed India, doctors will have to play their strong role: Deputy Chief Minister Shukla

BHOPAL: Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla has said that Dr. BC Roy has made the medical service proud with his dedicated service. National Doctors Day is celebrated in his memory. Doctors have an important role in public welfare. During the Covid period, we have seen the dedicated service of doctors very closely. Farmers are food providers, doctors are life providers. Education, health and employment are the priorities of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Strong efforts are underway in this direction. Health is the basic link to make India developed by the year 2047, doctors will have to play their strong role to fulfill this goal. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla attended the Doctor Samman program on National Doctors Day at Gandhi Medical College Bhopal.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that MBBS and PG seats are being increased in Madhya Pradesh. In the coming years, 5 thousand MBBS seats and 2500 PG seats are being increased in Madhya Pradesh. There is a continuous expansion in infrastructure. The role of doctors is important in this path of India moving at a fast pace on the path of development. He told the medical students that it is necessary to have values ​​along with education. For the improvement in society, we should dedicate ourselves to human service for the welfare of all. Doctors are expected to serve the citizens with full dedication according to their social dignity. Improving health services in rural areas is an important challenge, today it is necessary that all of us give priority to rural service. 

Organ donation is the highest form of service Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that many lives can be saved by organ donation. It is not only an inspiring human act but also becomes a medium to give life even after death. One person’s organ donation can give new life to 8 people. Through organ donation, we can bring back smile on someone’s face, someone’s vision, someone’s heartbeat and someone’s life. This is the highest form of service, which will keep the flame of compassion and humanity burning forever in the society. He said that expressing gratitude towards the citizens who donate their body or vital organs like heart, liver, kidney, the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has decided to honor the families of such inspirational citizens on Republic and Independence Day. The state will express respect by providing a guard of honor to the mortal remains of the deceased citizens who have donated their body or organs. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla administered the oath of organ donation to the people present.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla honoured the personalities who made a special contribution in the medical field by giving them shawl, coconut and symbol. Gynecologist Padmashree Dr. Leela Joshi (alumni MGMC Indore), cardiologist Dr. Harihar Trivedi (alumni GMC Bhopal), Dr. M.K. Jain (alumni SSMC Rewa), Dr. B.P. Dubey (alumni GMC Bhopal), Dr. Sanjeev Gaur (alumni SSMC Rewa), neurosurgeon Prof. Dr. Y.R. Yadav, Dr. Katyayan Mishra and Dr. Manohar Bhandari (who presented MD Physiology research paper in Hindi) were honoured. Principal Secretary Mr. Sandeep Yadav said that doctors, whether in government or private sector, serve humanity. Doctors have been given the status of God. This is also a big responsibility. Keeping this in mind, introspection is required. He called upon us to work with full dedication giving priority to service.
