Flood control room should work 24 hours, inform villagers before opening the gates of dams: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed that there should be no loss of life anywhere in the state during the rainy season. For this, all the collectors should assign responsibilities to the administrative staff in the districts under their leadership. Flood control room should work 24 hours. The concerned staff should be alert and vigilant and the general public should also be warned so that no accident occurs. There should be no lack of coordination to deal with the challenges of heavy rain or flood. If the army is needed anywhere to save the lives of people, the collectors should inform on time. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has said that the untimely death of three youths preparing for competitive exams due to water filling in the basement in the accident that took place in Old Rajendra Nagar in Delhi yesterday is sad and painful. In the light of the incident, he has given instructions to survey the coaching centers operating in the basements of Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reviewed the rainfall situation in the state and the possibility of flood in some districts through video conference from the Ministry on Monday. Along with this, instructions were also given to the collectors and commissioners of the districts to ensure necessary arrangements in case of heavy rainfall in the state.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav instructed that the Public Works Department should collect information about such bridges and culverts where accidents have happened in the past. The administration should ensure safety arrangements on such culverts and bridges. If there is waterlogging on the bridges, do not let people go there. If water is released from the dams, alert the affected districts in advance. Swimmers’ teams should also be available at such places. There should be coordination at the local level. There should be mutual information between the districts and tehsils. The administration has to deal with the challenge of heavy rainfall and floods. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that one should be alert so that there is no loss of life. There should be continuous monitoring. Officers and employees on control room duty should remain alert and vigilant 24 hours a day. As per need, avail the services of scouts, guides and service-oriented organizations in case of heavy rainfall.
There should be no hindrance in essential services
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that during the rainy days, take care of cleanliness in the supply of drinking water. The general public should get useful things of life without any hindrance. Essential services should be ensured. Due to problems arising during rainy season, cattle also die. Dead cattle should not be kept anywhere, the work of removing them should be done on time.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that citizens should not be allowed to travel on bridges or culverts where water flow is fast. To save their lives, a team of swimmers should also be available at such places. The rural area should be connected to the district and tehsil. Necessary care should be taken at these places where there is a possibility of accident or excessive water logging.
Amount approved from Chief Minister’s Vishvagyanudan for the family of Katni
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has said that recently some citizens have died untimely due to excessive rain in Jabalpur, Mandla and Katni districts, which is painful. It should be ensured that such accidents do not happen in future, necessary arrangements of rescue team should be made on such rivers and ponds where people go for picnics. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav described the loss of life due to excessive rainfall in some districts as sad. He also expressed grief over the death of four people due to falling in a well in Katni district. In this case, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has approved an amount of Rs 4 lakh each to the legal heirs of the affected family, a total of Rs 16 lakh from the Chief Minister’s discretionary grant fund. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that such accidents should not happen. Make sure that open borewells are also closed immediately. Such negligence can lead to death of someone. Citizens should be vigilant themselves and the administrative staff should also be active and alert.
Ensure the safety of devotees in temples
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the month of Sawan, the movement of devotees in temples is continuous. It should be assessed district wise. Necessary security is also necessary on the routes of citizens going to religious places on festivals and also at those places, which are religious places near water sources or rivers. In places where the water level can rise, there should be a constant watch from the point of view of safety. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav got information from Commissioner Ujjain, Collector Shajapur, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur and Katni regarding the rainfall situation and possibility of flood and gave instructions.
Instructions issued for inspection of coaching institutes running in basements
Principal Secretary Urban Development Mr. Neeraj Mandloi said that in compliance with the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, instructions have been given to look into the drainage system and ensure safe electricity system in case of water logging in coaching places running in basements in the state. Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajoura said that 16 Municipal Corporation Commissioners are also connected to the video conference. They have been directed to inspect coaching institutes, dharamshalas and institutions running in basements. Apart from this, instructions have been given to take necessary precautions in lower settlements in various cities and towns and to be alert about the problem arising during the rainy season due to the spread of electric current in kutcha houses.
Principal Secretary Revenue Mr. Nikunj Kumar Srivastava gave a presentation. He said that 18.5 inches of rain has been recorded in the state from June 1 to July 29.
