Farmers will now get permanent electricity connection for Rs 5: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that farmers will now be provided permanent electricity connection for Rs 5. Instructing the central region to start this facility immediately, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this facility will be provided to farmers in the entire state in a phased manner. He said that this is the government of farmers. Every possible effort will be made to improve their lives. The state government will also make farmers self-reliant in power generation through solar pumps. By providing 30 lakh solar pumps to farmers in the next three years, farmers will be freed from electricity bills. 10-10 lakh connections will be given every year. Arrangements are being made to provide 24-hour electricity to farmers. Along with this, electricity produced by farmers from solar energy will be purchased and they will be paid in cash. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the farmers who reached the Chief Minister’s residence in the Kisan Aabhar Sammelan.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav welcomed the farmers who came from every region of the state by showering flowers on them. Farmers greeted Chief Minister Dr. Yadav by presenting him turban, Gaj Mala, shawl-shriphal and replica of bullock cart and plough as symbols. On behalf of the farmers, Hoshangabad MP Shri Darshan Singh Chaudhary presented Ram Darbar to all the guests as a souvenir.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government is always with the farmers and is continuously working in their interest. We are buying wheat at the support price of Rs 2,600 per quintal, in which there is a bonus amount of Rs 175. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the year 2003-04, the government price of wheat purchase in the state was only Rs 447, which the state government has increased to Rs 2,600 per quintal. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the government is going to provide an incentive of Rs 4,000 per hectare on paddy procurement for the year 2024. He said that permanent connections will also be given to farmers through solar pumps. Recently, permanent connections have been provided to one and a half lakh farmers with temporary connections and its amount has also been reduced. Those with three horse power will have to pay 5% of the solar pump amount, 10% for 5 to 7.50 horse power.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this is the love of the government led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi towards the farmers. Prime Minister Shri Modi has made arrangements for free food grains for every poor and needy person. Arrangements have been made to provide food grains to more than 100 crore people by the year 2028 at a cost of two lakh crore rupees. This is a manifestation of Prime Minister Shri Modi’s desire to improve the life of every poor person and an effort to realize the concept of Ram Rajya. Prime Minister Shri Modi is giving the farmers their rights. This is the noble sentiment of our government.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav called upon farmers to change the crop cycle. He said that peanuts and natural crops are being encouraged in place of paddy. Our effort is to establish Madhya Pradesh’s own identity through organic farming. He said that farmers have played an important role in GIS Bhopal. Revolution is going to come from the cotton produced in the state. Textile mills giving employment to a person from a farmer’s family will be given a bonus of Rs 5,000. The state government is committed to setting up agriculture-based industries.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that all efforts are being made to increase the per capita income of the state. Like the incentives being given on wheat and paddy, bonus will also be provided as an incentive on milk production. Grants will be given to those who rear more than ten cows. Grants will be provided to encourage cow rearing and milk production in every village. Gaushalas will be strengthened by giving a grant of Rs 40 instead of Rs 20 per cow to those running Gaushalas. Mother cow is God’s infinite blessing on us. Mother cow is the link between nature and God. Gaushalas of 10 thousand capacity will be built in all big municipal corporations including Bhopal for the shelter of helpless, disabled and old Gau-Matas.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the coming time, agricultural fairs will be organized at the district level to improve advanced agricultural machinery, advanced seeds and agricultural system. According to the current requirement, the best seeds available globally will be made available to the farmers. On the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Modi, for expansion of irrigation facilities in the state, under the river linking campaign, the implementation of Ken-Betwa link project worth one lakh crore and Chambal-Kali Sindh-Parvati link project worth 70 thousand crore is going on. Along with this, the third river linking project will be started on Tapti river with the cooperation of Maharashtra.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Modi has given maximum importance to farmers. Farmers are not only food providers but also life givers. Prime Minister Shri Modi and Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee accelerated the development of rural India. Mahatma Gandhi used to say that if we want to understand India, we have to understand villages. To accelerate development in India, the lives of farmers will have to be enriched and empowered. Prime Minister Shri Modi has focused on farmers, poor, women and youth keeping in mind the circumstances.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this is a government of farmers. He thanked the farmers for reaching the Chief Minister’s residence and expressing their gratitude. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav made the farmers pledge to make every possible effort to improve the farming system, adopt new technology, take advantage of government schemes and improve the future of their children.

Minister for Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Mr. Edal Singh Kanshana said that farmers are the backbone of the Indian economy. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the state will once again become the leader in agriculture in the country due to the facilities being provided to the farmers. Minister for Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Mr. Govind Singh Rajput said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has honoured the hard work of the farmers by making the announcement about wheat and paddy. Khajuraho MP Mr. V.D. Sharma said that the decision of Kisan Morcha to express gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is commendable. This historic decision brought happiness to the farmer families. President of Kisan Morcha and MP Mr. Darshan Singh Chaudhary expressed gratitude on behalf of the farmers of the state for the decisions taken by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav in the interest of farmers.

On the occasion of the Kisan Aabhar Sammelan at the Chief Minister’s residence, an exhibition focusing on the schemes and programmes run by the Energy, Horticulture, Food Civil Supplies, Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development departments was also organised.

Sports, Youth Welfare and Cooperation Minister Shri Vishwas Sarang, Backward Class and Minority Welfare Minister Smt. Krishna Gaur, MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma, Municipal Corporation Bhopal President Shri Kishan Suryavanshi and a large number of farmers were present in the program.
