EV and automobile sector started speeding up with GIS-Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had underlined the increasing number of registrations of electric vehicles in the state at the launch of GIS Bhopal, the growing acceptance of EV revolution in Madhya Pradesh and the immense possibilities in it for investors. Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a hub of not only manufacturing but also innovation and research in the field of automobile and EV. The government is providing all possible facilities to investors. Electric vehicle (EV) and automobile sector are gaining tremendous momentum in Madhya Pradesh. From the platform of Global Investors Summit (GIS) Bhopal, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed his commitment to make the state the leading state of the country in this field.

New dimensions of EV and automobile development will be established in the state

Major automobile and EV companies from India and abroad participated in GIS-Bhopal. Currently, more than 30 original equipment manufacturing companies are working in the state and more than 200 companies are manufacturing vehicle components. Madhya Pradesh is among the leading states in the country in commercial vehicle manufacturing, while it ranks second in bus and tractor manufacturing.

GIS- Hindustan Electro-Graphite (HEG), a graphite electrode manufacturing company in Bhopal, signed an investment agreement of Rs 1,800 crore. The plant to be built in Dewas will produce graphite anodes, which will reduce the cost of EV batteries and give a new impetus to the industry.

Pithampur is becoming India’s ‘Detroit’

Pithampur auto-cluster of Madhya Pradesh is spread over about 4,500 hectares and has become one of the largest automobile hubs in the country. Big companies like Force Motors, Eicher Motors, AVTAC Motors, Kinetic Motors are operating here. Also, more than 60 auto component manufacturing companies are manufacturing their products here. Asia’s longest high-speed testing track ‘NATRAX’ (11 km) located in Pithampur is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for vehicle testing, which makes it globally competitive.

MP Mobility Expo 2025: A hub of innovation and investment

MP Mobility Expo-2025 was organized at the GIS Summit, in which companies like Bridgestone, ZF Steering, Madrasan Gabriel, Anand Industries participated. The super car and super bike exhibition was a special attraction at the expo. Various start-ups presented their innovations, which encouraged the inclusion of new technologies in the state.

Steps towards EV and Sustainable Mobility

Madhya Pradesh is rapidly attracting investments in EV battery manufacturing, charging infrastructure and hydrogen fuel innovation. The state government is implementing special policies to promote clean and sustainable automobile manufacturing.

Enthusiasm among automobile and EV investors for investing in the state

The Madhya Pradesh government is providing tax incentives, quick approval process and excellent logistics infrastructure to promote the automobile sector. In the financial year 2023-24, the state’s automobile and vehicle parts sector exported goods worth $192 million. This generated revenue for the state and created thousands of new employment opportunities.

GIS-Bhopal saw participation of leading companies from the automobile and electric vehicle sector. Bridgestone, ZF Steering, Badve Engineering, Motherson Gabriel, Pistol Dewas, Anand Industries, Jhalani Engineers, SD Excel Pvt. Ltd., Jagatjit Engineering Pvt. Ltd., TAFE Motors and Tractors Ltd., VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. and Pinnacle Industries were present at the Auto-Expo.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the expansion of EV-mobility will reduce carbon emissions in Madhya Pradesh and will encourage environment-friendly transport policy. This will not only lead the state towards economic prosperity, but will also set an example in the direction of green energy and sustainable development.
