ESIC Welcomes Over 16 Lakh New Employees in November 2024

ESIC  – The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) added 16.07 lakh new employees to its scheme in November 2024, following the inclusion of 17.80 lakh members in October. According to data released by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, ESIC has also brought 20,212 new establishments under its social security umbrella by November 2024, further strengthening its reach across India. When compared to November 2023, there’s been a 0.97% annual growth in registrations for November 2024. This increase reflects ESIC’s continuous efforts to expand social security benefits to more workers across the country.

Young Workers Take the Lead in Registrations

Of the total 16.07 lakh new employees registered in November, nearly 7.57 lakh (47.11%) are under the age of 25. This shows that young workers are a significant part of ESIC’s growing member base, ensuring that they have access to essential social security benefits early in their careers. In November 2024, ESIC registered 3.28 lakh women employees under its scheme, highlighting the importance of extending social security to women in the workforce. Additionally, 44 transgender employees were also enrolled during the same period, a positive step toward creating a more inclusive and equitable system.

20,000+ New Establishments Join the Social Security Network – ESIC expanded its coverage by bringing 20,212 new establishments under its social security framework in November 2024. This move will ensure that a larger number of workers in these organizations receive much-needed protection and benefits.
