Empowerment of health services is the top priority of the government: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that empowerment of health services is the top priority of the state government. Our aim is to provide excellent health services to every corner of the state, have medical colleges in every district, have state-of-the-art equipment and adequate health staff. He said that approval has been given for the recruitment of more than 46 thousand health staff. He directed to complete the recruitment process soon. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that with strong health services and education, any area is ready to take a leap of development. For a strong and developed state, it is necessary for these areas to be strengthened. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav flagged off 66 Mobile Medical Units (MMU) under ‘PM Janman Abhiyan’ from Samatva Bhawan. These mobile medical units will work to ensure easy and accessible availability of health services in remote and inaccessible areas of the state.
There will be no shortage of resources
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that mobile medical units will reach remote and health-deprived areas and provide essential health services like OPD, disease diagnosis, treatment and medicines to the common people. Trained health workers and state-of-the-art medical equipment will be available in each unit. He expressed confidence that this initiative will bring about a major improvement in the health standards of the state. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that there will be no shortage of resources for strengthening health services. We are committed to make Madhya Pradesh a leader in the health sector.
The unit will reach 1268 villages in 87 development blocks
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that health facilities will be provided to about 3,12,246 people of 1268 villages in 87 development blocks of 21 districts through Mobile Medical Units (MMU). The districts identified in the scheme include Anuppur, Ashoknagar, Balaghat, Chhindwara, Datia, Dindori, Guna, Gwalior, Katni, Mandla, Morena, Narsinghpur, Satna, Shahdol, Sheopur, Sidhi, Shivpuri, Jabalpur, Raisen, Umaria and Vidisha.
Mobile medical units will bring revolutionary changes in the delivery of health services in remote areas
Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Madhya Pradesh government is working on a war footing towards building a healthy India to fulfill the resolve of developed India. He said that under the ‘PM Janman Abhiyan’, 66 mobile medical units in 87 development blocks of 21 districts of the state will bring about a revolutionary change in the delivery of health services. He said that in those areas of the state which are backward and inaccessible in health services, health facilities are being made accessible through special efforts.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that due to excellent coordination between the Central and State Government and the strong leadership and progressive thinking of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, new standards are being set in the state in various fields including irrigation, health, education, infrastructure development and industrial development. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla expressed confidence that with the dedication and sincere efforts of the entire staff of the Health Department, Madhya Pradesh will definitely succeed in becoming a leading state in various health standards.
Benefits of Mobile Medical Unit (MMU)
Each mobile medical unit will be staffed by trained human resources, including a doctor, nurse, ANM/MPW, lab technician, physiotherapist and driver. Each unit will have 14 types of testing facilities, 65 types of essential medicines and 29 types of health supplies.
Through mobile medical units, people will be provided communicable diseases and basic OPD services, diagnosis and treatment of diseases like TB, leprosy, malaria, filariasis, antenatal and postnatal care, identification of high risk pregnant women, identification of diabetes, hypertension and kidney diseases, diagnosis and treatment of congenital malformations in newborns, family planning services, mental health and nutrition counseling, elderly care and emergency medical services. These units have been equipped with GPS system, which will ensure transparency in their monitoring and operation. Each mobile medical unit will provide services for 24 days in a month and will treat about 50 patients in 2 villages every day.
On this occasion, Minister of State for Public Health and Medical Education Shri Narendra Shivaji Patel, Principal Secretary Public Health and Medical Education Shri Sandeep Kumar Yadav and MD NHM Dr. Saloni Sidana along with other officials were present.
