Dehradun’s Transformation : In the new year, Dehradun is set for a major transformation! Development projects worth ₹25 crores will be undertaken across all 100 wards in the city. These projects will include the construction of roads, drainage systems, retaining walls, and parks.
According to Dehradun News, the development projects that were proposed nearly a year ago are expected to finally take shape in the new year. The work, which is estimated to cost around ₹25 crores for all wards, can begin once the election code of conduct is lifted and a new board is formed. For several months, these development proposals have been stuck in paperwork. Additionally, the municipal corporation will also be able to start some new initiatives, which will be sent to the government for approval after the new board is established.
The proposed projects for all 100 wards have included road construction, drainage systems, retaining walls, and parks. Initially, there was a review process to check for any duplications in the proposals. After that, estimates for the projects were prepared. However, due to insufficient budget, the municipal corporation decided to reassess the proposals. These projects cannot commence until the election process is completed. Nevertheless, it is expected that a new board will be formed within a month, allowing the municipal corporation to restart all the projects. This means that, just like before, we can look forward to ₹5 crores worth of work in each ward coming to life!
