Robbery of ₹7.5 Lakh and Dollars in Uttarkashi: Three Policemen Among Seven Arrested A shocking case of robbery involving ₹7.5 lakh and US dollars has come to light in Uttarkashi’s Mori block. The police have detained seven people, including three policemen, for questioning regarding the incident. Robbery of Lakhs, Including Dollars According to the police, on February 2, a man named Yashpal Singh Aswal, a resident of Rishikesh, lodged a written complaint at Premnagar police station. In his statement, Yashpal said he works in the property business and had recently met Kundan Negi, a resident of Chamoli. Kundan told him about his acquaintances—Rajesh Rawat, Rajesh Chauhan, and Rajkumar Chauhan—who live in Mori, Uttarkashi, and possessed around $20,000, which they wanted to exchange at a lower price. Yashpal agreed to buy the dollars for around ₹8 lakh. On January 31, as per Kundan’s instructions, he reached Balaji Mandir, Jhajhra, with ₹7.5 lakh in cash to finalize the deal. There, he met Rajesh, Rajkumar, and a man named Haseen, alias Anna. Suddenly, two individuals arrived, claiming to be policemen—one in uniform and the other in plain clothes.
