Cyclonic storm arises in Bay of Bengal, alert of heavy rain in these districts

A large part of the country is experiencing scorching heat, while Kerala is experiencing heavy rains. Meanwhile, the first cyclonic storm of the season has also arisen in the Bay of Bengal. It has been named Remal. Its biggest impact will be on West Bengal. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in many districts of Bengal.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), this cyclonic storm arising in the Bay of Bengal can hit the coasts of West Bengal and neighboring country Bangladesh as a severe cyclone on May 26 (Saturday).

Voting is to be held on eight seats in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections in Bengal on Saturday itself. There is a fear that voting may be disrupted due to cyclonic storm Remal.

The Meteorological Department further said that due to the cyclone, there is a possibility of wind speed of 80 to 100 km per hour in some districts of West Bengal and 100 km per hour in Bangladesh on May 25.
