Convocation ceremony is actually a ceremony of resolve to serve: Governor Shri Patel

Bhopal: The 29th convocation of Vikram University Ujjain was held on Sunday in the presence of Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. In the ceremony held in the Golden Jubilee Auditorium, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and the founder of Heartfulness Institute, Shri Kamlesh Patel were awarded the honorary degree of D-Lit by the university. Also, 70 students were awarded degrees, 99 were awarded medals and 2 researchers were awarded the D-Lit degree.

Governor Shri Patel said that it is a great pleasure to attend the convocation ceremony organized at Vikram University. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the students who received their degrees in the convocation ceremony. The Governor wished all the students a successful and prosperous future and said that the convocation ceremony is actually a ceremony of the resolve to serve. Strict discipline is required for success in life.

Governor Shri Patel said that Ujjain has its own unique identity on the map of India in the fields of education, religion, literature, culture, science and business. The story of Shri Krishna coming to Ujjain city situated on the sacred banks of Kshipra with the desire to study is famous all over the world. This ancient area of ​​​​Maharshi Sandipani’s Gurukul is still the center of faith of people, where the Jagadguru himself received education. He said that in the present times, many new areas of knowledge and science are coming to light. Along with traditional subjects, new dimensions of higher education have developed in many new subjects. Talented students of India have displayed their talent and ability excellently on the world stage.

Governor Shri Patel said that the students being initiated should respect their parents and teachers throughout their life. Parents bear many hardships to arrange for the upbringing and education of their children. Therefore, always respect and serve your parents in life, only then we will be able to serve our society and nation and our life will be better. By becoming a good and responsible citizen, we will be able to contribute to the progress of our country.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that today is a very important day for all of us in many ways. Ujjain city is one of the seven holiest cities. It has had special significance in every Kalpa. Today on the Indian New Year Pratipada, we are all celebrating Gudi Padwa and Chaiti Chand festival with great joy. Today is also the pride day of Ujjain. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Vikram Vishwavidyalaya will now be known as Emperor Vikramaditya. A huge auditorium will soon be built in the campus of Madhav Science College. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated everyone and said that the students who have been awarded the degree should use their talent to achieve the desired objective. Serve the society and the nation. Immense possibilities of the future are waiting for you. Our researchers should take the name of their city, state and country to the world stage.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, while congratulating Ujjaini on its Gaurav Diwas and the university convocation, said that the students have achieved other achievements along with securing a place in the merit list on the basis of their talent and hard work. These achievements increase the responsibility of the students along with their knowledge and learning. There are many future possibilities for the students. It is the wish that the students not only serve the country and the state, but also bring glory to the state and the country along with Vikram University in the world on the basis of their work and contribution. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav wished all the students participating in the convocation for their bright future. He said that today is a day of special importance in the history of Vikram University. This is the first time in the convocations held since the establishment of the university in 1956 till date that the Governor, Chief Minister, Higher Education Minister, Padma Bhushan, MPs, MLAs have all participated together.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that many aspects of good governance and public welfare present in the governance of Emperor Vikramaditya are reflected in the governance and public welfare activities currently being carried out by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, citing his own example, said that when he was a student, there was no tradition of convocation in the university. For a long time, there was no fixed order of convocation in universities, as a result, many batches of students of the university received their degrees in a normal way without convocation. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav praised Governor Shri Patel for establishing a system of holding convocations in all universities.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that many programs have been organized in Ujjain on the occasion of Nav Samvatsar. Samrat Vikramaditya Heritage Hotel will be inaugurated near Mahakal Lok. This will provide accommodation and food facilities to all the devotees coming to visit Baba Mahakal. The ground-breaking ceremony of Veer Bharat Museum, which focuses on the contribution of the Veer-Mahavir in the governance and administration on the basis of their efforts and destiny in their lives, will be done by connecting it with Kothi Palace. This will hoist the flag of our rich glorious culture in the present times and people will get to know the brave men related to Avantika. Avantika, which has maintained its existence in every era, is one of the seven holiest cities of India.

The welcome address was given by Acharya Arpan Bhardwaj, Vice Chancellor of Vikram University. He said that it is a matter of joy for the university that the 29th convocation has been organized on the auspicious date of Chaitra Shukla Pratipada (Gudi Padwa) on the new year named ‘Siddharthi’ corresponding to Vikram Samvat 2082. He said that it is also a matter of pride that our Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Padma Bhushan decorated Shri Kamlesh D. Patel are being honored with the honorary degree of D-Lit.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Bhardwaj and the Registrar, Mr. Anil Sharma welcomed the Governor Mr. Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav by presenting them with a bouquet, shawl, Ashwagandha plant and a memento. Other guests were also honoured and welcomed by the members of the Executive Council. The guests also released three books published by the University. The Vice Chancellor administered the oath to all the degree recipients. An MoU was signed between Vikram University and Heartfulness Institute in the ceremony.

On this occasion, Shri Kamlesh Patel said that the first fruit of practicing yoga is wisdom and intelligence. We all should try to eliminate our negative qualities. We can progress only through meditation.

Higher Education Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar said that all the students who are being initiated today should use their knowledge in the service of society and the country. Create a positive environment. He said that the National Education Policy was first implemented in Madhya Pradesh. The Madhya Pradesh government is continuously working on implementing the education policy more effectively.

The program was conducted by Mr. Virendra Chavare and vote of thanks was given by Registrar Dr. Anil Sharma. On this occasion, members of the working council of the university, Mr. Rajesh Singh Kushwaha, Mr. Roop Pamnani, Mrs. Manjusha Mimrot, Mr. Varun Gupta, Dr. Sanjay Verma, Mrs. Sushma Nigwal and heads of various faculties, guest teachers, students receiving degrees and their parents were present.
