Complete the development works of Ratapani Sanctuary on priority: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the development works related to Ratapani Sanctuary should be completed on priority. He said that monuments and property of archaeological importance in forest areas should be protected and preserved. The Archaeological Department should preserve the heritage spread in the forest area with the help of the Forest Department.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the 27th meeting of the State Wildlife Board at Samatva Bhavan located in the Chief Minister’s residence. Chief Secretary Mrs. Veera Rana, Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister’s Office Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Additional Chief Secretary Forest Mr. Ashok Varnwal and Advisory Member of the State Wildlife Board were also present in the meeting.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed to preserve at appropriate places in coordination with the Forest and Archaeological Department. Both the departments should prepare an action plan and identify such places in Raisen and other forest areas and the property which is permanent should be preserved at the same place and the movable property should be preserved at a place of archaeological importance.
It was informed in the meeting that a proposal has been sent to make Ratapani Sanctuary a Ratapani Tiger Reserve. In another proposal, approval was given to give 0.090 hectare forest land to Bharat Sanchar Nigam for laying fiber optic in the right of way along the road from Ratapani’s Bamnai – GP Road to Delawadi. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave instructions to make efforts for the conservation and protection of King Cobra.
Better management of conservation of Gharial, Dolphin
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that better management should be done for the conservation of Gharial and Dolphin in Chambal area of Sheopur region. He said that arrangements should be made to increase the means of income of local people in the wildlife area and to protect the wildlife and general public with the help of modern technology. The Chief Minister also gave instructions to run public awareness programs related to wildlife in rural areas.
In the meeting, 37.233 sq. km of Madhav National Park was discussed. It was approved to issue a notification for the formation of Madhav Tiger Reserve by including the forest area as the core area and 1275.154 sq km area of Shivpuri in the buffer area. It was approved to give 7.65 hectares of forest land in Kanha-Nagzira-Tadoba-Indravati Tiger Corridor under Balaghat district, 12.92 hectares of forest land on Sitapala to Kosam Dehi road, 7.74 hectares on Kandrikala to Kattipar road, 16.65 hectares of forest land on Bodad Lakha to Dhiri road in South Balaghat, 14.045 hectares of Khursud-Jonajhola to Khana road of Kanha-Pench corridor and 4.25 hectares of Bhenswaadi Jaldidan road, 3.655 hectares of forest land from Korea to Rainfall under Ken Gharial Sanctuary to Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority for road construction.
